ABOUT PEDCO

Ponca Economic Development Corporation (PEDCO) is a tribal non-profit corporation responsible for providing economic development activities for the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.

PEDCO's Mission is to creatively seek long-term sufficiency for citizens of the Ponca Tribe, create opportunities that improve the quality of life for all natives, and provide business and employment opportunities to stimulate economic growth and self-sufficiency.

PEDCO was formed on March 19, 2001 and was designated as a 501(c)(3) on September 15, 2013.


SERVICE DELIVERY AREA

PEDCO's Service Delivery Area matches that of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.  It consists of fifteen federally-designated counties in Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa, described as follows in the Ponca Restoration Act of 1990: “…Members of the Tribe residing in Sarpy, Burt, Platte, Stanton, Holt, Hall, Wayne, Knox, Boyd, Madison, Douglas, or Lancaster Counties of Nebraska, Woodbury or Pottawattamie Counties of Iowa, or Charles Mix County of South Dakota shall be deemed to be residing on or near a reservation…” (25 USC 983)

  • For the past 40 years, the Nebraska Indian Community College has been and remains dedicated to planting the seeds of knowledge through unique and culturally relevant educational experiences. These experiences are geared toward all Umonhon(Omaha), Isanti (Santee Dakota), and other learners attending classes at one of our three campuses. NICC is open to all who are willing to enhance and improve their lives.
