Building Native Communities

Ever feel overwhelmed trying to make ends meet? You are not alone. Millions of Americans report feeling stressed by money. In fact, MarketWatch estimates 57% of households live paycheck-to-paycheck. Millennials and Gen Zers in particular face greater financial barriers than previous generations. Fortunately, help is available. Starting January 2026, the Ponca Economic Development Corporation (PEDCO) will offer Building Native Communities: Financial Skills for Families, a culturally relevant financial literacy curriculum developed by Oweesta Corporation specifically for Natives.

Delivered in partnership with the Ponca Education Department and Northern Ponca Housing Authority, Building Native Communities empowers tribe members to adapt traditional skills to financial management. Learn about budgeting, developing a spending plan, managing checking and savings accounts, accessing credit, and being a smart consumer. Reach out to PEDCO today to reserve your free spot!
